Taxes
IRD, PAYE, GST, no tax treaty with Netherlands
Summary
New Zealand has a relatively simple tax system with progressive rates. There is NO tax-free threshold — you pay from the first dollar. GST (VAT) is 15% on almost everything. Important: there is NO tax treaty between the Netherlands and New Zealand, which makes double taxation possible in some cases. The tax year runs from April 1 to March 31.
